Obituary for Thomas W. Butler

Thomas Warren ("Tom") Butler passed away peacefully in his home on April 14, 2017, at the age of 63. He was born July 2, 1953.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary, daughter Lisa Butler Johnston and son Michael (Juniper). He also leaves behind his greatest joys, his five grandchildren, BreAnne Skidmore, Caitlin and Thomas Butler, and Coral and Cassidy Johnston. He leaves behind countless friends.

After his service in the United States Army, Tom and Mary moved to South Florida where he began a 35 year career as a tree farm/nursery manager. Tom managed some of the largest and most respected Nurseries and Landscape Companies in South Florida. During his career his accomplishments were many. What he created in this field was not only beautiful but will live on forever and leave the earth a better place. Tom had a very loyal following of friends in this industry. Many of these people stayed with him throughout his entire career. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Tom loved spending time with family and friends, fishing and telling tales. He was an instant friend to all. His family and many friends will miss his sense of humor, comical laugh and generous heart.

A memorial will be held on April 17, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the service starting at 4 p.m. at Del Lago Chapel, 131 South Lakeside Drive, Lake Worth, Fl 33460. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in his memory.
