Robert Richard Allegra 65, of Port St. Lucie FL passed away at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center Sunday January 29, 2017.
Robert, affectionately known as “Bob or Bobby” to his family and friends, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, later moved to Long Island and in 1986 relocated to Jensen Beach, FL with this family. Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and made his career as a butcher. He was a lifelong NY Jets and NY Mets fan. Bob also had a passion for cooking. He loved to cook for his family and his friends. Bob was a big-hearted guy who was always there to lend a hand if he could. His warmth, his smile and his generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Gary Allegra, his grandson Tristan Allegra, his brother-in-law Richard Daum and his sister-in-law Gail Joyant. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Margaret Peggi Allegra, his two sons Michael Allegra, Keith Allegra and his wife Andrea, his two granddaughters Savannah Marie and Charlotte Renee Allegra, his mother Arlene Galucci, stepfather Thomas Galucci, Jr., sister Christine Daum, brother Donald Joyant, sister-in-law Eileen Allegra and his nieces and nephews.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held this Saturday February 4, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5150 SE Railway Ave., Stuart, FL 34997.
