Richard (Dick) Charles Schoeneck, 78 of Stuart, Florida (formerly Syracuse, NY) passed away March 10, 2017. Dick, a former New York Central Railway employee, Syracuse Fireman and Onondaga County Deputy Sheriff was an avid train and fire engine lover. A co-founder of Rail City Fire Department in Sandy Pond, NY he owned and operated numerous antique fire engines including 1928 and 1941 Seagrave Hook and Ladders and an 1887 hand pumper. Always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, he will be remembered for his love of a good party, spinning an engaging tale and his infectious snickering laugh.

He is survived by his lady friend of 23 years Melonie Mager of Stuart, FL; son Richard II of Venice, FL; son Robert of Stuart, FL; daughter Theresa (Schoeneck) Smith of Stuart, FL; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and he had 1 predeceased grandson.

Arrangements are being managed by All County Funeral Home & Crematory, Stuart, Florida.

A casual “celebration of life” party will be held on Saturday March 18th from 2 - 6 PM at a private residence 5800 SW Mapp Rd, Palm City, FL. 34990. Cards can be sent to the same address. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to his grandson’s memorial foundation, the Richard Schoeneck Memorial Foundation online at https://www.cfsarasota.org/Donors/Give-Now?fn=Richard%20Schoeneck%20Memorial%20Fund or by check made payable to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and the memo line should reference the Richard Schoeneck Memorial Fund.
