Leader in Low Cost Funeral and Cremation Services
There are condolences waiting approval on Marta's Tribute wall
Obituary for Marta I. McCarthy

It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our beloved Marta. After spending 3 years as Registered Nurse in the Navy, Marta spent many years in labor & delivery– a perfect fit for someone so caring and gentle. She earned a Master’s Degree while working 12-hour overnight weekend shifts 3 days in a row, and raising 2 small children…and still found time to be a troop leader for Girl Scouts.

An avid herbalist, you could always count on her to have a natural ointment, soap, or balm to sooth what was ailing you! She loved the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), where she was known as Lady Isabella Sigilli Di Lucca. Marta enjoyed living the Middle Ages and Renaissance lifestyle; an avid and skilled seamstress, she made all her own clothes for SCA events, and taught many classes.

She was our sunshine. A devoted wife to Paul, a loving mother to Nicholas and Kathy, and a big sister to Paul’s brother, Scott, and sister, Anne. Her courage facing several illnesses through the years is an inspiration to us all. Our hearts will never heal, but the good memories and the love will see us through.
