Obituary for Mack Krotzer

Mack Krotzer, 91, died from complications following a 5 month illness on August 4, 2017, in Delray Beach, Florida. Mack is survived by his daughter, Mary Fajardo of Loxahatchee, Fla.; son, Matthew Krotzer of Duluth, Minn.; son, Michael Krotzer of Milan, Tenn.; and daughter, Margaret Frizzell of Brighton, Tenn. His family includes 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Mack was born on September 14, 1925 to parents, Frank and Bessie Krotzer. He was the sixth of six children, who have all preceded him in death. He joined the navy at the age of 17 in 1942 spending his time on several ships; USS LST476, USS Wisconsin, USS Missouri during the war and the USS Macon much later. He met President Truman during his tour on the Missouri and in 1959 traveled through the just opened St. Lawrence Seaway on the USS Macon as the largest ship in the fleet. Serving in the navy for 22 years he retired as Chief Petty Officer in 1964. Upon returning to Memphis, Tenn. he began a new career with the Dover Corporation. Mack was preceded in death by his wife Mary who he married in 1958. Together they enjoyed camping, travel and raising their children. Mack will always be remembered by family and friends as someone who loved to share his many stories as a young sailor in the navy; as well as his love of his family.

A graveside military funeral is scheduled at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 SR-7 in Lake Worth, Fl, On August 15th, 2017, at 1:00PM. You all are welcome to attend.
