Obituary for Joan VanderMeer

Joan VanderMeer passed away peacefully June 9th from complications of heart disease. Born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, she married Ron Trevisol and they had three children together. The young family relocated from Canada to the Palm Beach County area where she lived an active life raising her family, working and loving her south Florida lifestyle. Joan particularly enjoyed spending time on the sunny beaches, playing tennis, traveling and attending the professional tennis tournaments (Key Biscayne, US Open), Dolphin and Marlin games. She was, for a few years a certified pilot of single-engine planes, and would fly her friends to the Bahamas for the weekends She was an avid reader and volunteered for a variety of organizations.

Predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Vandermeer, Joan is survived by her three children, Katherine (Kathy Lamprea) and her husband Francis Lamprea, Michael (Trevisol), predeceased by Anthony (Tony Trevisol, 10/1/2014) and one grandchild, Alexis Lamprea who was the love of her life. Predeceased are her parents, Robert and Violet Widders, one brother Robert (Bob) Widders and his wife Ivy. She has two nieces, Kyle Alexander (Widders) and Heather Sears (Widders), and two great nieces, Kyla Miller (Alexander) & Kelsey Barker (Alexander).

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11 am in the chapel of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Dr., North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A luncheon reception will follow.
