Obituary for Jacqueline Harris Chiodo

. . .wife, mother, sister, daughter

Jacqueline Harris Chiodo, 65, of Palm Beach Gardens passed peacefully Friday in the care of Hospice with her husband, Philip, by her side.

Jacque was a beautiful and giving soul, beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jacque was born in Ozark, Arkansas, the first of three children of Walter Raymond and Dorothy Harris.

A short time after high school graduation, Jacque moved to Miami where she earned her degree in marketing from Barry University and began her career in banking. In 1986 Jacque met and soon married F Philip Chiodo. She was divorced and raising her young son, Patrick, on her own. Philip, too, was divorced and raising his daughter, Cindy, on his own. In 1990 Jacque and Philip welcomed Jillian Rose into the family.

While working full time and raising a family, Jacque studied nights and eventually earned her Masters of Science degree in psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic. After 35 years in the banking industry, at 62 years old, Jacque started her own company.

Jacque now served as a private, professional trustee, a professional guardian, a board certified therapist and as a professional home care manager.

Before ESOF, since 2000, Jacque had served as a volunteer mental health counselor working with individuals and families dealing with depression among seniors, addiction in adult children, and other mental illnesses through two local houses of worship. Jacque’s experience spanned over 30 years; she worked as an independent financial advisor, a securities broker, a portfolio manager, and a trust administrator. Jacque’s designations were Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), NASD Series 7 License and current Florida Life, Health and Annuity Insurance License. In addition, she was a licensed mental health professional and a member of the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County.

Jacque is survived by her husband of 31 years, Philip. She is also survived by her three Children; Patrick Michael Garrett, Cindy Chiodo and Jillian Rose Chiodo, and Grandson, Nicholas, all of Palm Beach Gardens. Her Mother, Dorothy Harris and brother, Phillip of Ozark, also survive Jacque. Her sister, Patricia Moix and husband Brian and their 2 children, Sydnie and Hunter, also survive her. Her father, Walter Raymond Harris in 1970, preceded Jacque in death.
