Henry Clay Yoakum Jr. passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 peacefully in Hospice care at Solaris Parkway Nursing Home in Stuart, Florida, from final stages of Parkingson’s Disease. The care he received for 2 years at Solaris Parkway from the employees (like family) was impeccable.
Born May 4, 1929 to Henry & Mary Yoakum Sr, and married to Florabel Christopher, his wife of 61 years, on September 18, 1954. Florabel predeceased Clay in 2015.
He is survived by his children, Son, Christopher Yoakum, of Colorado, his daughter Rebecca Grazioli and son in law James Grazioli of Palm City, FL., and his daughter Kellie Helvie of West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by his brother Tom and his wife Jane Yoakum of Wellington.
Clay proudly served his country in the Korean War, and worked for the Palm Beach Post Times, in the circulation department for 30 years before retiring.
Clay was an avid snook fisherman and fed his family many meals from his great catches. Clay was always into people and anyone who met him loved him. He will be loved and missed by so many.
