Obituary for George W Clark, Sr.

George W. Clark, Sr.
83, passed away on October 1, 2017 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Fl.
George was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Fl. Immediately upon graduating from Dan McCarty High School in 1954 he joined the United States Air Force and married his high school sweetheart, JoAnn Walters. While stationed in Lubbock, Tx and after more than 20 years of active duty George retired. In 1978 George and his wife returned to Fort Pierce where he became a licensed contractor. George was most proud of his service in the armed forces and has always stood up in honor of our Country's National Anthem. After his retirement from the service, George expressed his disappointment in not being able to defend his county in war if needed. George was known for his love of animals; owning a number of dogs and horses over his lifetime, and his love of Florida Gator football. It made him extremely happy to know all of his grandchildren had the same love of animals; especially horses. Over the years, George enjoyed attending Florida Gator football games with his wife and son and 4-H events in support of his grandchildren. In the last years of his life, he especially liked embellishing his many exploits with his "coffee clutch". Survivors include his wife of 61 years JoAnn (Walters) Clark; daughter Kathleen Tennison of Lubbock, Tx, daughter Karen Llanas of Fort Pierce, Fl; George W. (Bill) Clark, Jr. of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl & grandchildren Natasha Butler, Michelle Tennison, Brandi Yancy, Misty Sanchez, Michael Tennsion, David Tennison and Andrew Llanas and 11 great grandchildren. In lieu of traditional expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the St. Lucie County 4-H Association in George (Peka) Clark's honor. There will be a celebration of life on Veteran's Day, November 11th, 2017 beginning at 3pm at his home 200 Hartman Road, Fort Pierce, Fl.
