Obituary for Charles Franklin Norris

Charles Franklin Norris
March 17, 1938 – October 14, 2017

Charles Franklin Norris, 79 of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away on October 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. Known as “Chuck Norris”, he was born in Grace Hospital, Detroit, Michigan on March 17, Saint Patrick’s Day 1938 to parents Ruby Pearl Norris and Earl John Norris.
He met the love of his life, Judith E. Hartman and attended Grosse Ile High School, and they immediately became inseparable high school sweethearts. They graduated together in the class of 1956. They loved being “Red Devils” and continue to have friends from their school years today. They were married on June 13, 1959 while attending Western Michigan University. After college Chuck worked for Ford Motor Company, and participated in quality control and supervising the assembly line of the very first Mustang in 1964. He even brought his family to San Jose California with continued Mustang development for a few years, and then back to Grosse Ile. He retired from Ford Motor Company and moved his family to Petoskey Michigan where he owned a Ford tractor and farm equipment business. Eventually he and Judy headed south to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1981 where he continued the profession of Real Estate and became a Broker.
He loved being named Chuck Norris! He embraced this name with all of his heart. And shared that character zealously in everything he did and every person he met. With a signature incredibly firm grip of a hand shake he loved to meet people; and his greeting was always the same…”Hi, I am Chuck Norris!” similar to how Johnny Cash would start his TV Show, another one of his favorites.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Norris his two daughters Cinda Norris of Vero Beach and Julie Norris Sessa, son-in-law John Sessa and grand daughter Jennifer Sessa, all of Jensen Beach. Sister, Joanne Machado and her children, Chuck’s niece and nephew all of Petaluma, California.

Services for Chuck will be at the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church, 5405 Turnpike Feeder Rd., Fort Pierce, FL 34951, on November 4, 2017 at 3:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life at Chuck and Judy’s home immediately following the service at 6605 Oneco Way, Fort Pierce, FL 34951.
