Obituary for Aileen L. Featherstone

Aileen L. Featherstone, 91, died April 21, 2018 at Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart, FL. Her journey began on February 8, 1927 in Miami, Florida. She was the sweet baby sister to Kathryn and daughter of Paul and Etta Leaman.

She grew up in Miami attending and graduating from Miami Senior High School. While working at Sears, she met a handsome young boy, Bryan Featherstone, D.C. It was love at first sight, her forever love. While working at TWA/National Airlines they married on December 28, 1947 and were married for 48 years until he passed. Bryan completed his Chiropractic Degree where they would then settle in Stuart, Florida opening the clinic on US 1 in 1957.

Their lives were enriched with three boys and five grandchildren. She was active in the community volunteering with multiple organizations to include the Women’s Club, Garden Club and a member of First Baptist Church in Stuart. They traveled throughout the United States and Europe enjoying the sights, culture and appreciating the fine cuisine. Those who knew Aileen will remember her fun-loving spirit, sense of humor, charisma, artistic talent and her love of music.

She is survived by her sons Philip Featherstone, D.C. and his wife, Dr. Susan Monbarren of Charlotte, N.C. and their sons Zach, Alex and Adam Featherstone; Kenneth Featherstone and his wife, Dr. Ginger Featherstone of Jensen Beach, Florida and their twin sons Logan and Austin Featherstone; and Richard Featherstone of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; her cousin Charlotte Garrett, Stuart, FL. and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of All County Funeral Home with a committal service on Sunday, May 6,11:45 am at Fernhill Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, 1501 South Kanner Highway, Stuart, 34994.

A celebration of her life immediately following the internment will be held at the home of Ken and Ginger Featherstone.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Treasure Health/ Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart.
